At the meeting Natalia Bjorklund, MS, will be our keynote speaker. She will tell us about ornamental plants and the pollinators they attract. Please come and learn how to attract and support more pollinators in your garden.
Ms. Bjorklund has worked at the UNL Extension Office in Dodge County Nebraska as an Extension Educator in Horticulture. She is now working on her Ph.D. in Entomology at UNL.
In her work, Ms. Bjorklund helped people find local answers to:
1. Fruit and vegetable production
2. Plant and insect identification
3. Weed control
4. Invasive pests (i.e. Emerald Ash Borer)
She has also helped many people:
1. Improve management of community and residential landscapes to expand the use of integrated pest management and increase natural resource use efficiency.
2. Increase the public knowledge and perception of pollination, pollinators, and their vital role in our environment and food system.
Omaha Bee Club members may attend for free. Visitors can join the club that day. If you don't want to join, there is a $5 drop in fee per meeting.
We hope to see you there!
